The UMAF Is Teaming Up With Clinton Arts & Music Fest
The UMAF is teaming up with the Clinton Arts & Music Fest to bring you an outstanding day of live music! Right now... Submit your music to the 2010 UMAF and you will automatically be considered for the 2010 Clinton Arts & Music Fest! That's right... 2 submissions for the price of one!
The Art and Music Festival will be held in the New England style community of Clinton, New York on August 28th, 2010 from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm. The festival provides a forum for independent musicians, fans, and creative minds to keep the inspiration and imagination alive that both music and the arts provide. The telling of a story through a song or art has an impact and long lasting effects in our daily lives. They try to promote these effects in hopes that people will continue to use music and the arts to learn, entertain, inspire, and open new doors in their lives.
The Art and Music Festival features more than 40 bands performing non stop at a half a dozen locations most all genres are accepted, including alternative, bluegrass, blues, Cajun/zydeco, Celtic, electronic, experimental, folk/traditional, freestyle, funk, Gothic, indie, jazz, jam band, novelty, punk, rap/hip hop, reggae, rockabilly, rock, ska, soul/r&b, swing, spoken word, comedy, and world.
An amazing array of food, art and merchandise vendors will make the festival easy to enjoy. The festival is a collaborative effort between Melodic Revolution Records The Kirkland Art Center and The Clinton Chamber of Commerce.

The UMAF Social Charity Concert
The Utica Music & Arts Fest is staging eight SOCIAL CHARITY concerts throughout the summer, to benefit organizations in Central New York. This week its all about the YWCA of the Mohawk Valley. Mark your calendar for this Saturday, June 26th at the Nail Creek Pub & Brewery, Varick Street, in Utica, NY.
The YWCA's mission is to ELIMINATE RACISM & EMPOWER WOMEN. This is your chance to support this noble cause while having some fun in the process.
THREE BANDS: ONE GREAT CAUSE
The band line-up for the YWCA / Nail Creek Pub & Brewery event is:
- gr6 8-9PM
- CLOSER STILL 9:30-10:30
- BETH P & FRITZ 11PM-1AM
The organizations that benefit from the SOCIAL CHARITY program are: National Brain Injury Foundation, American Red Cross, the United Way of the Greater Utica Area, the YWCA of the Mohawk Valley, the Landmarks Society of Greater Utica, Move Along, and the Peacemaker Program.
This event is also intended to build increased awareness of, and enthusiasm for, the 3rd annual Utica Music & Arts Fest which will be held throughout Utica September 16-18, 2010.
The Utica Music & Arts Fest's "music" component delivers 250 bands at 20 venues over 3 days for 1 great time. The "arts" component provides numerous performances and displays throughout our venues. In addition, there is also the Utica Greens Fest - a celebration of one of the unique signature dishes of our region, and the Utica Tattoo Fest - your chance to get inked by several skilled artists.
Vendors, venues, artists, and volunteers are encouraged to get involved.

The Bomb Helps Raise Money For Charity
We're at it again! Another UMAF - Social Charity Event this Saturday with our friends from United Way! There will be live performances by Featured Artist The Bomb, New Animal and Stranger Than Fate!
The event will take place at Mr. McGill's located on 2102 State Rt. 5, Utica NY. Party starts at 8pm.

Social Charity Kick-Off Party at Hotel Utica 5.14.10
The time has come... UMAF and Co-Host National Brain Injury Foundation (NBIF) are raising money for Charity and there's no slowing down. Our kick-off event will be held on Friday, May 14th, at the BEAUTIFUL Hotel Utica with live performances by Featured Artist The Dirty Boogaloo, The JK Trio, Scott Bravo and Bethal Steele. Not to mention an awesome Pre-party and Utica Area Tweetup and After Party at the Electric Company...But we'll get to that in a moment.
The NBIF provides opportunities and support for its members to transform their lives through a unique approach that encourages self-development. The natural social interaction within this diverse group helps to build self-esteem, and instill the self-confidence necessary for increased integration into their communities. NBIF members are advocates for change, spreading awareness of brain injury through personal testimony. The NBIF will also provide education and training to natural supports, service providers, and communities nationwide.
Now for MORE AWESOME Stuff!
The pre-party will be held in the Lamplighter Pub in the Hotel Utica. There will be happy hour foods with entertainment from Utica Music & Arts Fest veterans and Featured Artist gr6 (acoustic rock - perfect for that room) from 5PM to 8PM. Did we say free food for Happy Hour? The cool angle is that the Utica area will be having a Tweetup at the exact same time and place - making for more fun, more cool people, and excellent networking.
Then its off to the Electric Company for our Social Charity After Party with MORE GREAT BANDS!
