RUSTED ROOT'S MICHAEL GLABICKI TO PERFORM AT 2011 UMAF

That's right! You can get EXCITED because Michael Glabicki from Rusted Root is coming to Utica on September 16th to perform at The Uptown Theatre during the second night of the Utica Music & Arts Fest! Michael will be performing as a Trio featuring Preach Freedom & Colter Harper. Rusted Root, the multi-platinum sextet out of Pittsburgh, evolved around front-man Michael Glabicki's distinct sound and grew into a musical entity that has thrived in a non-genre specific category all its own. Rusted Root built their career around dramatic performances; their polyrhythmic, multicultural rock-and-soul picked up fans like a junkyard magnet as they swept across the nation on tour.

Now, over a decade into a career with Rusted Root, Michael is ready to explore roads less traveled. What began as an opening act for Rusted Root shows, Michael's solo tunes are beginning a new life completely independent from the successful jam band.

"It's a little bit more out and in your face," said Michael about his new sound "It's not so jolly and community oriented It's more intimate material."More intimate and appealing to an even larger audience. Michael's writing is evolving like the living project that it is. In order to more clearly identify his solo endeavors, he has separated from his moniker with Rusted Root and taken the name Michael Ki. The name, as well as the sound is a new entity and while it may be rooted in his past endeavors, it is clearly a new musical phenomenon.

2011 UMAF TICKETS ARE ON SALE NOW. PURCHASE GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS

Advance Tickets are now available for only $40. Tickets will go up to $50 at the gate. All tickets are 3-day festival passes (Thursday through Saturday), Ticket includes admission to all participating Showcase Events and Venues.

Advance Tickets Are Available Online OR The Electric Company and Tramontane Cafe.

Online Tickets: There are two options for ticket delivery. To print tickets at home, select eTicket. Otherwise, select Will Call to pick up a printed ticket from the venue on day of event.

For our friends that just want to go to a single venue for the day/evening there will be a $5-$15 cover charge depending on the artist. Standard Submissions DO NOT include Free Admission to ALL the venues or transportation. Only for that specific venue.

All sales are final. There are No Refunds of Exchanges. There will be no reissues for lost or stolen tickets. The 2011 Utica Music & Arts Festival will take place rain or shine. All acts advertised have confirmed their appearance at the 2011 Utica Music & Arts Festival, however acts are subject to change without notice.

UMAF is Looking for Volunteers

The Utica Music & Arts Fest is looking for volunteers to help plan the 4th annual UMAF. Volunteers with expertise in marketing, event planning, sponsor or vendor recruitment, are preferred. The event will be held September 15th-17th throughout the city of Utica.

The UMAF is growing at a considerable rate and there's a lot to do to ensure that this year's event goes off smoothly. Volunteers have become to play an important roll in the Utica Music & Arts Fest. Your help is greatly appreciated.
