UMAF PROUDLY SUPPORTS THE VH1 SAVE THE MUSIC FOUNDATION
Many people are unaware that the Utica Music and Arts Festival is an event with a social conscience that extends far beyond the atmosphere organizers hope to foster among performers and the fans. In addition to the obvious fun, each year, a portion of the proceeds of the festival is donated to a variety of causes that benefit the community. This year, the UMAF team is very excited to announce that one of the charities that will be receiving funds generated from the festival is The VH1 Save The Music Foundation!
Part of creating a world in which we all would like to live begins with the children we are raising. These children will grow up to become members of our community and the values they gain through their formative years are things that community will be likely to see reflected in generations to come. The VH1 Save the Music Foundation believes in providing children with exposure to instrumental music as a part of their public education and works to preserve and revitalize music by providing grants to schools without an established instrumental music program.
Since 1997, The VH1 Save The Music Foundation has provided $47 million worth of new musical instruments to more than 1,750 public schools in more than 100 cities around the country, impacting the lives of more than 1.6 million public school students. The VH1 Save The Music Foundation is officially classified as a 501(c)(3) organization and enjoys full tax exempt status.
We truly hope all community members will be even more motivated to participate in an event that benefits children's musical education! Your ticket purchases contribute to the amount we are able to give, and this fact makes the Utica Music and Arts Festival bigger than a party. It's bigger than Utica or the surrounding region. Help us spread the music all across this country. Maybe we'll see some children who receive the benefits of our dollars come back to play our festival in years to come.
